
A little beginner baker hack that has been saving me. If a recipe calls for softened butter and I completely forgot to take it out (which is basically every time), I pour boiling water into a mug and let it sit for a minute to warm the mug. Then I dump the water out and place the warm mug upside down over the stick of butter. Leave it for a few minutes. Sharing in case anyone else is winging it in the kitchen like I am. We don’t have a microwave so this has become my go-to.
